The very best
of Valencia Region

Welcome to Sharq Al Andalus, the easternmost lands of Al Andalus, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. Here, the traces of the Arab and Andalusí legacy are both deep and subtle. Rice fields, orange groves, lush orchards, advanced irrigation systems, and silk tradition —these are the hallmarks of Valencia, all fruits of Al Andalus. In this region, you’ll also find excellent beaches, stunning nature, rich history, vibrant culture, and an enviable climate. Discover one of the best coastlines in Europe.

Valencia Region Travel Tips

CHOOSE YOUR DATES

Valencia Region enjoys a temperate Mediterranean climate: summers are less hot than in other regions of the interior or the south of the Iberian Peninsula, and winters are less cold, so all seasons can be good to make a trip and even enjoy the outdoors. At inland areas temperatures are less mild. Spring is wonderful; then is when its famous festival -Las Fallas- takes place, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. Summer, incredibly lively, is the season that attracts the most vacationers in search of sun and beaches so, unless this is also your main purpose, we advise you to choose any other season that, in addition, will also be friendlier to your pocket. Fall and winter are good for cultural tourism.

HOW TO GET…Valencia Region has very good communications. The three provinces that make it up –Alicante, Castellón and Valencia- have their own airport, although it is the latter that has the most international (and also domestic) flights.High-speed trains, which connect Madrid with the Valencia Region in less than two hours, are also a great option. The rest of the rail network of the Valencian Community connects its entire territory with the rest of the country. The road network is also excellent. The Mediterranean highway or AP-7 stands out. This is a fundamental axis that connects the municipalities of the Mediterranean coast with each other and, also, with the rest of Spain, from the border with France to Andalusia.València, Alicante and Dénia are the cities that have passenger ports, which facilitates the maritime connections of the Valencian Community with other important Mediterranean destinations in both Europe and North Africa.

…AND ONCE THERE This region boasts so many attractions, both on the coast and inland, that knowing and enjoying it as it deserves consumes a complete vacation. However, if your intention is to take a tour and visit various destinations and areas in Spain, keep in mind that from Valencia Region, following the highway that runs parallel to the Mediterranean, you will easily reach Catalonia (towards the north) or Andalusia (towards the South). From Valencia you can also enjoy, even on a day trip, the magnificent Mudejar in Teruel, one of the Aragon provinces, which is only 143 km away.
