Alminar of San Juan

San Juan de Los Reyes, 18010, Granada.
Rating:

4,0

+ 3

This alminar, along with San Jose, is one of the few remains of the 37 mosques that were in the andalusí Albaycin. It belonged to the mosque of the converts, Masyid al-Ta'ibin, and was built in the 13th century, in the Almohad period. It is not surprising, therefore, its similarity with other Almohad minarets, such as the Giralda of Seville, or the Koutoubia of Marrakech. Like the Giralda, it has no stairs inside, only a ramp.
