Meaning "golden tower". Located on the left bank of Guadalquivir, possibly its Arabic name was Bury al-dahab or Borg-al-Azajal, in reference to its golden glow reflected on the waters. Restoration works showed this shine came from a combination of lime and straw. With its construction (1221), the defensive system of Almohad Ishbiliya was completed. Its function: to defend the port with a big chain that prevented the entry of ships and invaders (such as Vikings!).

Opening hours: Inside, the tower, which is open to visitors, houses paintings, marine charts and maps, models, engravings, navigation instruments, and other historical elements. Monday to Friday: 09.30h - 19:00h / Saturday & Sunday: 10:30h - 19:00h. Closed on public holidays.

Price: Adults: € 3. / Children from 6 to 14 years old, students and seniors (over 65 years old): € 1,5. / Monday: Free entrance.
